Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline

A chopper flying over a popular coastal beach abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a row of palm trees as beachgoers watched.

Recordings uploaded on social media show the aircraft beginning to twirl over the beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck between palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.

Rescue Operation Details

Emergency responders stated five people were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on the weekend.

Three persons on the street were harmed. Details on their wounds were still under review.

The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.

Planned Function

The department indicated the chopper was associated with an annual “Cars with Copters” charity gathering planned for Sunday.
